Hey,

I was thinking of downloading the photon web browser, but before I spend $5 on it, I was wondering if any of you use it, and how well it works in terms of running flash. I would use it not so much for flash videos, but more for cramster.com, which is a textbook solution website that happens to use flash.

Thanks

I use Photon for all of my Flash needs (in particular getting UFC.com video content) and it does it without issue. Of course, depending on bandwidth I have noticed some lag on certain video feeds. But this weekend I was watching the UFC prelim fights on Fuel TV, via Facebook and it was perfect. No lag at all, which surprised me considering the amountnof people that watch UfC.

Anyway, i went to your website cramster.com and not sure what i should be looking for? I didn't have any problems viewing any of the content, and that was without engaging Flash on Photon.

Personally, Photon is the No. 1 Flash browser for iOS devices out there and AppAdvice has the same assessment. If there is something you want me to specifically check, let me know.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Will this work for espn3.com? I know there is the watch espn app but my cable company doesn't support that yet. However I do have access to espn3 and was hoping this would work.

It makes you sign in to view any video. I don't have cable or sat, so i couldn't test thevideo quality. But yes, i was able to see the opening Flashpage, no problem.

You could also try Puffin.

See? The iPad does indeed do Flash, because There's an App for That.

Another thing that pretty much negates the point of owning any Android tablet on which even basic OS mechanics work poorly (which is nearly all of them.)

photon is nice. the video quality tends to be a little degraded, but it is tolerable. it sure beats not being able to see anything at all. my main complaint is that it asks you to tap on the screen all the time to make sure you are still watching (what else would i be doing?), and that screws with the video. anyone know how to disable this?

I use Photon and mine works fine, even for my Amazon Prime. My husband uses it exclusively. The thing I don't like about it is that there is no bookmark organization nor can you rename a bookmark in order to shorten the name of the page. I emailed the developers about these two concerns and supposedly they are making improvements but who knows. Those two issues keep me from using it exclusively.

I tried almost every browser in the store and so far photon works best for me for flash content.

Does espn3 work well for you? I'm looking to get the best flash browser for this.

Really? There was one review dated Oct 7 that he bought Puffin to watch espn3 and it doesn't work. Another one on Oct 23 says don't waste your money.
