I really don't get on with the photos app, I much preferred the old iTunes for sorting my photos. I like to put all my photos on my nas drive periodically to clear my iPhone. I have just found that all the files I have copied to then as drive have been copied with the copy date as the created date so the files are in random order and not related to the event which has resulted in hours wasted sorting things into events. Has anyone successfully deleted this app and found a more efficient one for photo storage? Thanks

An old thread but as there are no replies... I just created a second photo library (hold down the option key when you start Photos) and use PowerPhotos to copy between libraries. You could just export originals of course but PowerPhotos makes it very easy. No reason the second library couldn't be on your NAS.
