Universal Photos and time zones?

I always found it baffling for me how the photos app doesn’t keep the right time for pictures you take when you are in different time zones, is there a fix for it? I currently found out that you can edit the time in the pictures the problem is I can’t remember the right time and seriously don’t know how the photos app time zones work, say I’m from Texas and travel to California, take some pictures and come back to Texas the timestamp will be messed up and don’t know how… please help.
