photos app crashs iphone 6

iphone 6, ios 8, jailbroken. yesterday the stock photo app opens for a second with a blank screen then crashes, however if you double tap home to switcher screen you will see the mini screen there showing all picture options. i can access pictures from the camera preview or wallpaper so they are all there. i did a power/home reset, that did not work , then did reset all settings, this fixed it for a time, when i went into collections or recently added, it crashed again. i would go ahead and update to ios9 then jailbreak but i am waiting and hoping springtomize comes along before i do. any suggestions to fix it for now ? also used icleaner, still did not help
