Is it possible that Apple forgot to add this feature?

I switched from an iMac to a MacBook Pro. I've downloaded all of the photos from iCloud. No faces information included.

I know the information is out there as my iPhone can find people add the Photos app.

Yeah its not included in iCloud Photo Library. It´s terrible as many people tag their photos, and think it´s now backup in iCloud, only to realise it´s not the case when setup a new Photos.

One can only HOPE that Apple realise how bad this is, and implement it asap. Until then I would recommend anyone who use Faces heavily to go into your Faces and select all + keyword tag each name as a poor backup. You´d still lose all your faces, but at least you will have a keyword to sort people by.
