Just finding my way around the various apps since upgrading and Photos app seems to be a real backwards step in its search ability.
Previous versions you could search for 'blue sky' or 'yellow flowers' or whatever and it was smart enough to find them.
Now? Zip.
Even searching by keywords, titles etc. seems to be really falling short.
I have around 50k pics in my library that have, in many cases, been key-worded etc. now I can't seem to search this way. That's a major problem for me.

Am I missing something or have they reduced functionality?

No, functionality for content searches (like blue sky or cats and dogs) has improved. But, after an upgrade, you need to give it some time to do the indexing. My experience is that you need to leave the Mac running for an extended period whilst you are not using it - overnight might be enough, but could be more for 50k photos. Similar searching also works for photos outside the Photos app.
