Photos app with WiFi transfer yet?

Do we still need to use a freaking cable to transfer photos and videos from iPhone to Photos app on Mac?

(Yes I'm aware of iCloud and third party apps but that's hardly the same thing.)

well, you can airdrop them, though admittedly that's only really viable for a couple of pictures and not a sync as such. But I do that all the time when I just want a photo quickly
