I put my iPhone 15 Pro phone on a charger all night the first night thinking it would finish indexing my > 10,000 photos and videos.
The next day it looked like it was finished because my people and pets albums seemed complete.
During the next day though the Photos app kept taking about 10% of my battery and battery seemed to be draining faster than my old 14 Pro whether I used it or not.
I decided to plug it in again all night and the Photos app racked up almost another hour of activity.
Now my phone is staying cool in my hand and has been at 100% for the last half hour while I’ve been surfing on WiFi. That kind of surprises me; it will be interesting to see how the battery holds up today now that I’ve had it over 36hr and most post-setup activity seems to have ramped way down.
I’m also wondering if this first half hour with it staying at “100%” is also just a false measurement, and that reporting battery charge/capacity especially at the extreme highs and lows is not super accurate.
In other words, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it drop from 99% to 98% in closer to 15 minutes…
