Hi guys,
I have a general question regarding the file size of photos (in the Photos app vs. exported).
I had 43.9 GB of iCloud space used. I then drag and dropped about 100 Live photos from the Photos app into an iCloud folder. The size of the folder was around 300 MB. Updated iCloud space: 44.2 GB. Makes sense.
I then deleted the photos from the Photos app and expected the iCloud space to go back to 43.9 GB but in fact it even went back to 43.4 GB. At first I thought that would be because once exported the Live photos lose their Live functionality and thus take up less space but I tested it with a few photos and it looks like they even take up more space once exported.
So can anyone explain to me why these photos take up much less space once exported?
Thanks and best wishes
Chris
