Just got off a call with online support regarding the issue with Photo's not syncing and the album selection in Catalina.
Support advised the following:
"Engineering is aware of the issue going on with syncing in Catalina and is going to release a fix for that. It should be released in the next week."
"it will be under 10.15.2"
Though it is needed, it would seem a rather rapid update after 15.1 (not that I'll be complaining if it does arrive that quickly)
