If they are on your iphone's camera roll.
On your MacBook w/iphone plugged in.
Open> Preview> File (top toolbar)>Import from XXX iphone.
You can save them where you choose.

I brought my wife's MacBook Air with me to my trip, not my MacBook Pro. I'm struggling to get my pics off my iPhone 5 so I can share them. Seems I have to wait until I'm back at home with my laptop again.
