Hello all. I was hoping someone can enlighten me on how to keep my photos in sync. I'm using an iPhone and a Mac with the new Photos app. I am not an iCloud Photo Library user as my library is too large to put in the cloud without going broke.

I've been away from home on vacation and have taken a couple hundred pictures on my iPhone. Back at the hotel later in the evening I would delete unwanted pics and edit those that need retouching. After arriving back home and sitting down at my Mac I've noticed that all the photos I've deleted have been downloaded OTA to the Photos app.

My two questions .....
1. What is the proper setup to only delete photos once? Each time I delete from my phone I am asked to confirm and warned that the image would be removed from the Photstream, yet I still see these deleted images on my Mac.
2. All the edits made in the photos app on the iPhone are not captured in my Mac Photos app. Why? How can that be synchronized?

Thanks in advance for the help.
