I'm getting a client transferred from Picasa to Photos on the Mac. I have a couple questions about how iCloud Photo Library is going to interact with the iPhone/iPad/&c.

Folders: If I group Albums into folders on the Mac Photos App. Will those grouping propagate and show on iOS devices?

Hiding Photos: If albums are hidden on the Mac will they also be hidden on iOS?

iOS hiding albums: If I can't hide across devices. Can I hide entire albums at once or better yet folders on iOS devices.

I ask as the pictures originally were managed with Picasa. There are a few thousand originals folders I will want to hide. Having to select individual files would be tedious on every device. Even worse if I can't group all those originals albums as individual albums under a single folder.

Well I created a mock library to test these.

Hiding Photos: Yes. If you hide on the computer. They hide on other devices as well.

Folders: Yes. If you group albums into a folder on the computer. They are grouped on the iPhone as well.

iOS hiding albums: No. You have to open each individual album and select all the pictures. Which is true on iOS and Mac. Which is a pain and a shorsighted option. Did they not think people would want to hide entire albums or folders rather than having to open each album and hide all the contents. Which is fine for a couple albums. A royal pain for over a thousand albums.
