Photos: iCloud Photo Library download speed

Is there any way to monitor what's currently being downloaded in the Photos app?

It's currently displaying "Downloading 3,615 Items" and has downloaded a mere 50 or so items in the last seven hours.

Granted, they may have been videos but how does one figure?

Although if you swim, you can probably fly.

If you want the raw download speed just use Activity Monitor and use the networking pane to look at the download rate. Mine usually varied from 360k to 3MB/s on a 150mbps FiOS connection. Other than that I don't know of another way to monitor whats being downloaded
