Photos in favorites not saved when imported

hello there

When I travel, I take many pictures on my phone and then, on the way home, I select my favorites on my iPhone by clicking the blue heart icon.

Then I plug my iPhone to my MacBook Pro and transfer the photos.

However, the ones in favorites are not displayed.

It was as if changes on pictures were not saved once transferred on the Mac.

Is this a normal behavior?

I called Apple and it's not possible.
