Photos install according to date taken

Hello, I download photos that are texted or emailed often.
I expect the latest photo I download to be the last photo in my library (or first, depending on perspective), instead it downloads according to the date the photo was taken.
I don't always know that date, and find myself having to search through years of photos.
Is there a setting I can change?

I'm not aware of any way to change the sort order of Library. There is a menu item View->Sort--> but it only has one choice, at least for me. Luckily I do want my sorted by date taken.

However, there is an easy way to get to the most recently imported photos. On the left side, select "Imports". This list appears to be sorted by date of import. (It doesn't show photos that got downloaded from iCloud Photo Library, though.) Hope that helps!
