First it depends on your camera. Some DSLR have an app and use of wifi to transfer.
Others doesn't depend on your DSLR. You can have a Wifi card to transfer. use an Eye-fi SD card to transfer photos to iPhone. Only problem with that is that you need to have wifi connection. Possibly use your iPhone as a hotspot.

I'm not sure. I don't use it. From what I read the photo USB adapter that Apple made for the iPhone worked and then it didn't. I'm not sure where it stands. Off the top of my head you can try something from Hyperjuice
