Already tried using iPhoto to import the images and "delete from my iPhone" now they don't show any photos:

Yet when I check iTunes, these photos are still on my device. I have used iExplorer and seen all my photos still on my device:

and I don't know how to delete them as it doesn't let me... any idea how I can fix this guys?

I had exactly the same problem yesterday. I fixed it by deleting all photos and the file Photos.sqlite (under PhotoData) using iExplorer. Make sure you killed the Photos and Camera App before doing that. Reboot your device before open Photos.App again.

Excellent! Did this and now all my photos are back so going to try exporting them via iPhoto again - will keep you updated.

An album 161342624 keeps coming up and seems to be linked to Photo Stream, therefore just to be safe, I have wiped my phone by restoring to the latest iOS8 BETA file. :p Thanks for your help anyway!
