Photos Library - 22 GB difference through icloud?

Dear Mac Peeps,

Question for you all... I got a new laptop and have been using photos and icloud for my personal photos. The photos library on my old mac pro is 381gb, my new laptop has a library of 359gb. why the 22 gb discrepency between my old and new photos libarary, if the icloud is up to date? How to assure I have all my photos and videos?

Probably thumbnails of varying sizes. As you view the photos, it'll grow.

Check that the number of photos in the library is the same and if it is, you should be ok.
