Hi all

Please can I just check that the 'Photos Library' that appears in the pictures folder on my Mac is all of my photos stored within the Photos app?

Just wondering for backup purposes whether it is safe to simply copy this Photos Library.

Many thanks

M

It depends on your Photos preferences. If you haven't changed Photos location in preferences or you didn't select iCloud synchronization then it will contain all your photos.

If you wish to use the pictures in another OS then you could use the export function in Photos.

My photos are all synced using iCloud but my Mac is set to download the originals.

The the library should contain all the photos.

Personally I prefer not to use iCloud because I had too many problems with it.

Never had any problems with iCloud and it keeps all my photos in sync on my laptop, tablet and phone, which is great.

The reason I am asking about backing up the photo library is so I can ditch google photos.
