I received my MBA and am transferring everything from my old MBP via time machine (using external hard drive). For some reason my photo library (organized folders of photos) is not transferring. I spent a whole on the phone with a representative from Apple last night who suggested an earlier backup which I did overnight but again, the photo library is not transferring over to my new MBA. Any suggestions or tips would be so appreciated. Thanks

Just to clarify. Are the photos normally stored on the MBP? Not just existing on the external. Are you using migration assistant?

Thank you for the reply. I have a feeling this is going to hold me hostage all day. Correct......normally stored in folders on my MBP. I click on the Photos app and all folders display on the left column. I'm using time machine backup via external hard drive (not cloud). When I turned on my new MBA I did use migration assistant as it gave me the option to use the latest backup from my external hard drive. For some reason the photos aren't transferring. Currently I am trying to backup my old MBP via my apple airport utility and am going to try and restore to new MBA once it's finished backing up.

What about machine-to-machine migration? I used that for my last 2 Mac upgrades and it worked well (much faster over thunderbolt)

I’d just turn on file sharing and copy the library over. If everything else is there. You can also use freefilesync to compare folders. Making sure nothing is missing between the two computers.
