Photos no longer show up in notifications since 8.4 update

Now when I get a message with a photo attached it says "_____ sent you an image. You can view it on your iPhone"

I had this problem, signing out and back into iMessage and then restarting my iPhone and watch solved it.....not sure what causes it.

I've had that message a couple of times... but I can always just go into the Messages App on my Watch to see the photo. Not sure where the disconnect is!
