I've mucked about with my Photos library on all of my devices recently, and had to delete the library on my Mac as Photos could not repair it. This wasn't an issue as all of my photos were backed up to iCloud Photo Library.

However, since creating a new (unbroken) library for Photos to use, the order in which I put the photos into the app has changed, meaning the order of the photos is wrong in the "All Photos" album on my Mac, my iPad, and, most importantly, my iPhone.

I can't think of any solution, short of exporting all files, mass renaming them, and reimporting them. the Sort option in the app is greyed out, stuck on "Keep Sorted By Oldest Date Added", which doesn't help. I want to put them into oldest created image first order.

Has anyone got any sort of solution? Or is my only choice an export/import situation?

EDIT: It's probably worth mentioning that they're all in age order in the "Photos" album, but not in the "All Photos" album.

Open Photos

Then View > then select "Keep Sorted by Date"

If you bothered to read what I'd written, that option is greyed out.

In fact, there is no option. It's just one.
