Photos -> Other Albums

I have approximately 83K photos on my phone. However i also see that under Photos, “Other Albums -> Imports” i have 48K photos.

So what are those photos, are they duplicates that are taking space (as i can see them in my All Photos)?

Think of albums as sub-collections or sub-views of photos from the Photos tab, which is your master library. You can have the same photo in multiple albums. So the Imports album, like some of the other built-in default albums, is simply a view of photos that were imported; they're not taking up extra storage space. In other words, your Imports album is 48K of your total of 83K, not 48K + 83K.
