photos under "places"

I some how accidentally deleted photos under "places" in the hard drive window sidebar (I saw 1 of those little poof things). How do I get it back? I did drag a photos folder to there but it is just not the same, I want it the way it originally was. Now when I send photos via email the photos are huge on the receivers screen. Just before I accidentally deleted photos from places we got a new OS "snow Leopard" so are the photos huge cause of leopard, or cause of the way I tried to put photos back to sidebar? So its a 2 part question, thanks for the help...

The sidebar has aliases (shortcuts) which can be removed by dragging off the sidebar (poof). To restore it, drag the original folder back to the sidebar. For other items, go to Finder > Preferences > Sidebar and check what you want.

Thanks for the response, the problem is, is that I dont know which folder is the original one. Grrrr And its not in the preferences area. I tried "pictures" and "i photo" and neither one is how it used to be.

Certainly not the latter. What type (file format) of photos are they? That might help someone with a solution for you.
