Photos with same name?

Heres the issue. Me and my dad used two camera to take pictures during a trip. I am trying to put the entire trip worth of photos into one folder. But it appears many of the photos are named the same since we both just kept the default Canon photo naming during import.

Is there any easy way to fix this?

Use something like NameChanger to change the names in order to put them in the same folder.

Another option would be Automator to do the name changing.

Lightroom or Photoshop and PS Elements will let you rename the photos as you move them.
Both programs will let you rename the photos using what ever naming convention you choose. My suggestion would be date-shooter-auto shot number, but that is me.

How would I do it in Automator? I have never used that before

iPhoto will also automatically rename them during import.
