I got a touch today and I synced my music and Outlook fine. Later I decided to sync a few photos to the Ipod so I have it set only to sync a few folders from My Pictures (only a few total pictures as well).

Now when I try to sync it never completes. I left it syncing for two hours with no luck so I canceled it. How come trying to sync with photos isn't working? Has anybody else had this problem?

Thanks for the help.

either it was still busy copying music or something ..... or those pictures are very high quality and you might of cancelled it while the pictures were being optimised for the ipod touches screen (which you cannot stop skip) otherwise they don't copy over.

You think it was still busy after two hours when I was only copying 6 total photos? That would really suck.

Also I don't think it was busy copying music as it only took 15 mins earlier to sync the entire music library.

Thanks for the help but something definitely seems messed up with this. Any other thoughts?

hmm i dnt knw ... maybe try a restore of the ipod or try syncing a different folder with pictures in it see if you get the same problem

make a folder on ur desktop and add all the photos u want on the ipt in that folder then do the sync to the folder on the desktop select the one u made full of pics

Worked like a charm. I guess the problem was that I was using My Pictures. Maybe it was b/c I have so many in there even though I wasn't adding all of them to the ipod. Do I need to leave that folder on the desktop or can I name it something like "ipod photos" in My Documents?

Anyway thanks for the help Verbalist.

name it what ever u want and from now on any photo you want to be added to the device put it in there and resync it it will overwrite(per say) the old ones and add the new ones

I had the same problem - itunes wouldn't stop syncing. Moving photos to a diff folder solved this! Using itunes 7.6.

Thanks all for helping me solve the same problem on my ipod touch.

You can simplify things even further and use the original folder you had wanted pretty easily.

In the newly created folder on the desktop is another folder called "iPod Photo Cache". Copy "iPod Photo Cache" into the original folder you wanted to use (if necessary, replace the folder of the same name). Then go to your iPod settings in iTunes and reselect the original folder you wanted. Update and it should sync.

deletion

just delete the ipod cache and sync and it will automatically create a new 1. i had the same problem.
