Am getting this error message when i try to open a CR2 file made on a t5 running CS6 on 10.10
"Could not complete the command because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.
Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information."
How to fix this?

This has nothing to do with OS X, you need to update the camera raw plugin. Check for updates in Photoshop under the help menu. There's a possibility that Adobe hasn't updated the plugin for your camera, so you may need to use the Adobe DNG converter.
