Photoshop crashing

I just can not get photoshop or elements to even run. When I open either application it goes through the startup then crashes out completely. My disk permissions are fine. Does anyone have any ideas please.

What OS (10.4 or 10.5) and which, exact, versions of Photoshop/Elements?

My guess is you're trying to run Photoshop 7 on Leopard. It's not going to work, nor will it ever. Adobe aren't going to issue a patch, saying that version is too old.
