I have a 2.0 GHz Macbook with 512 MB of ram and i was wondering how photoshop runs on it, since its not universal. Would it be comparable to an old pc with 256 ram and a intel celeron processor?

As long as you have adequate memory (512MB is not enough), it will be comparable to running on a later G4. That is, not bad. You may get away with 512 if you don't run anything else at the same time, but really, RAM is cheap compared to Photoshop, so why not just get it?

Well is a G4 comparable to a 2.4 GHz (i think) Intel Celeron and 256 mb of ram? It was slow on that computer, but bearable if I didnt run too many applications at the same time.

I love using Photoshop CS2 and Dreamweaver 8 while MSN-ing and surfing, while listening to iTunes. A little slice of heaven :D.

if the macbook can run it as fast as my powerbook, you'd be content.

my powerbook is no slouch in photoshop. but it pales in comparison to my G5 :)
