Photoshop CS3 grey background missing!

Just installed CS3 onto a second machine, here. When opening photoshop the application (software) has no background (normally grey) Its clear & I can see my desktop underneath. I remember having this problem before, on a different mac, which I overcame, but now cannot remember how, I did it!

CMD H, also doesn't work.

Also, when opening an image, it opens with the frame maxed out & there is no way to close it (without going, file-close)

I have a time machine backup of my CS5 workspace, Can I use that with this different machine, running CS3? If so, how!

Click on the Window menu in your menu bar, then select Application Frame. Should fix you right up.

No, that doesnt work in CS3. there is no option for "Application frame", in Window.
