Hi, I'm trying to use the color replacement tool to replace the color red with black on a photo. The only problem is it only changes it to gray. Any ideas or suggestions? Sorry if this is a noob question, I'm not exactly the best at using photoshop hahaha. Thanks!

I find that the colour replacement tool isn't very good in many cases. You might be better off learning how to best use the selection tool or how to paint a mask on a layer. I find a combination of selections works well with the curves filter. This lets me subtly change the colour without blowing out detail.
