Photoshop CS3 on 10.5.4 getting access denied when try to open .tif

Another user is creating images, a lot of images. And frequently one of the images created will not open. It shows an access denied when trying to open from a PC, and just will not open on a mac, and will not show the thumbnail preview of the image, but instead will have a general icon there instead.

Any idea how I can open these .tif's?

"It shows access denied" is extremely vague and doesn't tell us anything.

From your description of what happens on the mac side, it looks like your files are corrupted.
