I am running Photoshop CS5.1 Extended on the latest version of Mac OS X Lion (10.7.1) and I was wondering if anyone else has encountered a black background behind the canvas and if anyone has a way around it because I find it very distracting and ugly. I have checked my settings and all seems to be in order to have the grey around the canvas.

Thanks a lot in advanced!

Ok because I cannot see any menus in your screen shot, I am assuming you have 'Application Frame' (under Window menu) on and you are working in FULL screen mode? If so, the default background will be black. If you do make changes, you need to restart Photoshop for the changes to take effect.

Hope this helps.
