When I try opening PS Elements I get a box that it is "Updating Adobe Online components from Adobe.com" and looks like it is trying to download some files and it locks up.

It does this occasionally for days on end and then other days I get in no prob.

Anyone else have this prob? Any solutions? Can I somehow disable these updates?

Appreciate your help before I start tossing things around the room. :D

have the same problem. had it for a year. i hit cancel everytime immediately when the dialogue comes up and everything is fine.

On the days when there isn't a problem, go into preferences and disable automatic updating.

After closing the application, just in case, you might try a manual update to see if that works.

I have PSE 2.0 and I have the same problem. Ohh well. I am sure the updates are not that important for a 4 year old program. I mainly do picture cropping/resizing with it so it doesn't matter much. When PSE 5.0 comes out for Universal and for Leopard for my future MacBook, then I will upgrade.
