i love photography and am finally making the switch to digital. I am thinking about buying photoshop and can get it for a good deal. It is such a big program, though.
Does anyone know a way i could learn it without using a book. An online tutorial or downloadable video(s) would be wonderful. Audio maybe. I would just like to get the basics out of the way so i can enjoy all it has to offer. Thank you all!

I've been using photoshop quite a while now - I use it professionally almost every day. I learned by getting my hands dirty - finding out what you want to ddo THEN working out how to do it... thats the best tip.

Try the photoshopTV podcast - that will get you going.

Trust me though - its not that hard to use... its a great app.

Based on what your needs actually are, you may not need a pro level app like Photoshop. It may be overkill for what you describe as your photography background.

You might want to take a look at Photoshop Elements 4. It might be everything you need and you can save yourself several hundred dollars as a bonus.
