Is anyone else experiencing this? Ever since the last update to Creative Cloud (the one before 21.2.2) when I launch Photoshop my screen will turn off for a second or two right before it goes from the splash screen to the application.

Does it completely turn off? Or just show a black screen?

Does it turn off just the backlight (if you out a torch lighting the apple logo behind the screen can you see anything on the screen)?

If it turns off completely it's probably because photoshop is trying to open in full screen and the resolution is different from the resolution the screen is currently on, so it turns off before turning back on with the right resolution. It is possible photoshop tried to do this and before the screen is back on it changes its mind, and when it's back on its normal again. If that's the case you should be able to change this in the photoshop settings.

I am having the same issue, both in photoshop and lightroom classic. While in photoshop, the display goes off when when it starts, in lightroom the display goes off at different times, mainly in develop module when i select an image.

I have the same. I believe it started when updating to 10.15.6.
This update did fix my problems regarding kernel panic wake from sleep with external monitor. This behavior I sometimes also see when waking the MPB 16inch from sleep.

I think it is some of a workaround by apple to mitigate the problems (kernel panics) that people were experiencing probably related to the graphics card switching.
