Photostream and poor battery?

I've never really had poor battery life, but after importing my iPhoto library into Aperture yesterday, my battery has been draining like crazy. The only thing I can think of is Aperture is uploading to Photostream, how many others have enabled photostream and had poor battery life (excessive drain issues)?
