Photostream filters now permanent?

Long time lurker here.

Am I crazy or were the filters on pictures non destructive when sent over photostream just a few days ago. I went to look at my pictures on my ipad (which I had taken on my 5s) and the filters were permanently applied.

Yet, a couple of days ago, I seem to remember them being non destructive when sent over photostream.

Anyone else notice this or am I completely wrong.
