It is just Bring your own box or bubble wrap? Couldn't even request on the phone for Apple to ship a box before hand before I arrive at the genius bar to pick it up?

Just walk down the mall with it?

Correct, they will have a protective foam cover/sheet over the top. But the stores don’t provide iMac boxes.

If you’ve kept your originally box I’d recommend taking that with you.

34lb apple xdr Pro Display package is going to get interesting. Mall entrance and no loading/unloading curb. How Apple advertised AppleCare as having mail in, etc is false.

Wait, you thought Apple was going to repackage your product after AppleCare service? Sometimes if they have to completely replace the item, then it will come in a white box.

Apple price prides itself on being environmentally friendly. Can you imagine if they just made a new box for every time someone came into the store for AppleCare?

If it’s something like an iMac or a display, just use the box it came in. You didn’t just throw that away knowing you might need to move it?

Not sure how far you want to go for this but disabled people have no chance with Apple. Basically bring to Apple Store. 4 Uber rides there. Shipping is way more environmentally friendly .

And the self service repair is just a facade to fulfill law requirements. BTO and cto serial numbers will fail the verification . So can’t replace the logic board. Environmentally friendly

If you can’t physically make it to the Apple Store then shipping is clearly your best bet. Just package it in the original box. If you threw that one away, then you’ll need to have UPS or whoever box it up for you.

Oh. And Apple xdr Pro Display are full replacement. No fixes. In a brand new box !

I think that's how it works.
Users are responsible to pack and send (or carry) their devices to a repair shop.
The repair shop takes care of the device after repairing it (or replace it under warranty)
If you can't do it yourself, there are delivery services which also provide packaging service at your doorstep.
