Picking Up the iPhone 6? Band Material?

I love my iPhone 6, I really do. I love the size, the screen and even the buggy iOS8 but I am having one problem... picking the thing up when it is flat on a table/desk. I have small hands & fingers but damn I have a hard time picking it up. When I put it on my desk I leave the bottom off the edge of my desk so I can pick it up. Anyone else have this issue or is it my uncoordinated fingers?

Another question just out of curiosity... Does anyone know what the antenna bands are made of? Are they another type of metal or plastic?

I don't know what they are made of but its plastic or polycarbonate of some kind.
