Anyone got an email yet confirming order is ready for pickup? Please share

Yup. Pickup confirmation mail came about 5 minutes after placing the order through the Apple Store app.

Just follow these instructions. We’ll see you soon.

See any Apple employee

Just check the store hours and decide when you’d like to come in. Bring the order number and a valid photo ID. We’ll need those items to complete your pickup. Or, if you have the payment card, we can use that instead. When you get to the Apple Store, just let us know you’re here. We’ll bring out the items and get you started.

Are they opening the stores early?

pickup at stoneridge? I'm waiting for that email too. I might just go there around 8 since I live close enough.

Do they say for how long they will hold the iPad at the store?

I will have a friend of mine pick it up for me during a trip to the US in 2 weeks, and trying to find out when is the best time for me to place the order.

Ordered Verizon silver 64GB at ~3:10 AM EST for in-store pickup and immediately received confirmation email but have still not received a "Ready for Pickup" email.

Order process was a little messed up for me. I placed an order exactly at 3:00 AM, specifying in-store pickup, but the confirmation email showed it ready to be shipped. I then tried to cancel the order but the website link said it wasn't yet available to cancel. I hopped back on the store app and ordered a second one for in-store pickup and this time it came through as an in-store pickup order. This morning at 8:00 AM I cancelled the first order that was to be shipped. I am hoping that this cancellation didn't put a red flag on my second order and prevent it from being processed? Wondering if I should call Apple or just show up at store to pick up later today?

Note: order number link shows order still in processing for in-store pickup.

Kinda hard for them to confirm pickup before they've had a chance to finish prepping the store for launch day. I wouldn't be surprised if the confirmation arrives within an hour of them opening.

Same here for the same model iPad.

Makes sense, though I guess I had assumed that inventories were handled electronically.

In any case, I'll post here when I've received the pick-up confirmation.

I will be super pissed if they cancel the order at this point after I got up at 3:00 AM to order. I read in another thread that they can cancel your pickup order from their end at any time while it's still in process. It showed available for pickup today when I placed the order. I have another Apple store nearby that I could have used instead if there was a problem with availability.

Placed an order for my Black 128gb ATT and black smart case at 3:30am EST.

Got the email around 6:30 that it was ready. Popped over to my local apple store at 8 and the iPad was ready, but for some reason the case was still 'processing'.

I either had to make two trips (wasn't happening), or take the iPad, get "another" smart case, and then cancel the one on the personal pickup.

I'm now in the process to get apple to cancel the original case which is proving to be difficult.

Order status at Apple Store changed to "Ready to Pickup" but no confirmation email/text yet. :)

Update: Ready to Pick-up email received. :)

I ordered at 6:30 and received an Pickup email at 7:15

Unfortunately forgot to use my 10% Shop Discover and cancelled.

I reordered at 8:30 and still have not received pick up email??

Could do it that way, but the risk is that nobody marks a specific unit as "sold" in this way. When you are in store, they see they have 5, and may not check the electronic system to see how many are for pickup. So someone physically marks them sold. One they are marked, they confirm. This avoids accidentally selling the unit "twice" before pickup and pissing off a customer you told could come in and pick it up.

Even though I work building software, low-tech solutions are indeed better sometimes.

I placed my order at 3:04 AM EDT and got my "ready for pickup" e-mail around 3.5 hours later. However, bear in mind that if many people placed pickup orders at your particular store, your order might not be ready for pickup quite so quickly.

Just called the Apple store (Crabtree) and they verified that my order will be available for pickup later today, that they are just waiting for carrier shipments to arrive. They said I need to wait until my order status online shows ready for pickup and/or I receive a "ready for pickup" email before heading to the store but emphasized it would be there later today.

For others in my situation, don't head out to your store for pickup until it shows as ready but also don't worry - you will get it today!

Update: order status now changed to ready for pickup!
