Anyone else have problems with their machines only reading certain brands of blank media? Lately, my MBP will only read HP discs and is especially sluggish when mounting DVD's. I've been having a problem with this for some time and am quite irritated. I took it in to an apple store to have it looked at a few weeks ago and i'll be damned if the thing read every disc the genius put in there. For this reason I was told that even with Applecare they couldnt do anything unless they could prove it didnt work on site. Now as soon as I left the Apple store the problem persisted. FML!

Go back to the Apple store and take some of your disks. Try them there and then try there's. If there's work try yours again. If yours don't work, I would say it's your disks.
