I think Apple has made a little mistake, or should update the application for clarification. With the new iPhone 3G S, pictures and videos taken on the phone are placed into the "Photos" Application which makes no sense, as it now encompasses two different types of media.

That did occur to me too, might get a little confusing on a small screen where you can't search/filter.

But it happens in iPhoto (pics and little mpeg videos), and iTunes (movies, iPhone apps), so there is already some overlap.

What would you rename it to? "Media". "Photos & Videos" would be too long...I bet they were just as stumped as I feel right now. Didnt know what else to call it, so they left it as "Photos".

EDIT: Good post sammich. iTunes is definitely much more than music these days.

I think media would be the best one, but media can include music too...

And now that I think of it, we have videos in two places now, in the photos and in the iPod... Weird.

@ Leemo Oohh, gallery would be a good one.

I've always disliked the fact that the iPod touch has a Video and a Music application while the iPhone just gets an iPod application. I prefer the iPod touch was and would rather see the two applications on the iPhone.
