Got both the Sienna and Blue tech woven cases today for iPhone 17 Pro Max. Work on the iPhone 16 Pro Max rather well. Pics are taken under 5927k temperature light.

First impressions:
  • Packaging is standard iPhone case packaging
  • Back is really grippy. Almost tacky but also not dust magnet?
  • Sides feel the exact same at the fine woven cases? I had two of those and it reminds me of them. Maybe it’s not the same but it’s at least a similar feel.
  • This is one of the best previous gen iPhone fitting into next gen case ever. Buttons are all in the same place. Only real difference is larger camera hump.
  • The weak point with the silicone iPhone 16 Pro Max case that I had is that it would break around the camera module button since the case got so thin around the saphire button. This area on the case seems to be stronger but the only way to truly tell is with time.
  • Overall, this feels like a well built iPhone case. Hoping it can truly last for more than 6 months as the silicone ones were only lasting 4-5 months.

Rather well. There is a gap where the 16 PM’s smaller camera module. I can imagine that might allow for dust to get in but it also isn’t swimming or flexing around inside the case from my short experience.

Ah, so you wouldn't use a body strap then? That's like the only feature I am jelly of lol. So handy during travel and when doing museums/gardens/etc

Hmmm, I would encourage you to try it in store. I think it would work out but I also don’t want your phone falling on the floor because of advice I gave

When you say the case is almost tacky, does that mean it is likely to be hard to get in and out of pickets like the silicone cases. I have always preferred textile/leather cases precisely because they go in and out of pockets easily.

No, and it’s not tacky, it’s just almost? It’s not slippery I guess is what I am trying to say.

It’s way easier to put into my pocket than the silicone case though.

Just did a hands-on at my local apple store and I have to say the cases look and feel really nice. Finally an apple case again that will slip in and out of my pockets easily! The colours look better in real life than online. The only thing that is worrying me a little tiny bit is the frame that looks exactly like the finewoven one. And that peeled off after a while.. we will see..
Went home with the black one.

Does it fit well enough to use as a case on the 16PM if you wanted?

Yeah, that's what let down the FineWoven case in my experience. I didn't care about the fabric itself showing wear - leather does same. Damage is a different thing, and that coating peeled and looked nasty well under a year. I'm not anything like a heavy user of my iPhone, but it didn't last a year and IMO any Apple-branded & -priced case should last a year in typical use.

Yes, both my wife and I hated the fine woven and had to switch to the clear cases that year.

I told my wife the sides felt like fine woven and she agreed. Let’s see if there were any improvements with it???

I received the dark blue PM case yesterday and compared it earlier to the 16 case. Yeah the 16 fits in it fine (other than a gap where the "plateau" is (How many marketing meetings were held to come up with that name!?!?).

These are a big upgrade over the previous finewoven fabric cases, at least on initial impressions. They feel very high quality. Initial impression is good. I hated the previous finewoven cases out of the box. I also had 4 of them in a year as the material kept ripping and getting terribly stained/dirty looking.

I also dislike silicon, while i don't have an issue with it ripping or breaking like some do, i don't like the feel, they feel 'cheap' rubbery (well it is!) and they are too grippy. But I've used one for the last year on the 16PM.

The TechWoven case feels in hand about same bulk as the 16 silicone case, though the edges are a bit more square so it might feel slightly larger.

I wish they did leather but well give this a go. First impressions good. Phone is scheduled to show up 9/19 so we'll start to use it then.

Just got mine too. LIGHT years better than FineWoven which was a joke of a product. I ran my fingernails over the TechWoven and it’s holding up superbly. I also poured some water on it (you know, science) and it’s dried out without staining. This looks like a winner, and yes it’s certainly the best fitting case gen to gen I’ve used - on my 16 Pro Max.

Also the TechWoven has actual buttons. So nice!
