My wife and I both have an iPhone4. I've recently noticed, when she sends me a photo via MMS (a picture she's taken with her iPhone), and I save it to my camera roll...the data gets lost when I import that photo into iPhoto on my MBP.

Is this normal?

The data I'm talking about, is the date/time is was taken, location, etc.

Thoughts?

Yes, I think this is normal. MMS is very limited in what information can be sent. If you care about "data" why aren't you sending the photo via email? You can send at reduced resolution to save time and data usage but the meta data should still be there when the photo arrives via email.

thanks for the reply. I was curious if this was the case with MMS.

The main reason I care about the data is because I organize by date/time/events using iPhoto.

It sucks when she sends me a photo and I save it...only to find out I have to go in and manually enter the metadata.

I'll have her email pics from now on to see if that solves the issue.
