Picture doesn't fill external display

Hello all,

I bought a Samsung Syncmaster P2370HD and am trying to hook up my 13" MacBook Pro to it. I'm using a mini displayport to HDMI adapter.

The problem is that the picture is blurry and doesn't fill the display. I've set the resolution to the native 1920x1080 but no luck.

Any ideas what is causing this and how I can fix it?

I've tried hooking up my Lenovo ThinkPad to the display using VGA and it works fine.
