Picture stuck on file beside toolbar

While drgging some photo files around an open window this morning, I somehow got one logded on the top of the file beside the toolbar arera on top left. No idea how this happened and now this shows up on all open file windows. How can I get rid of this ?

If I understand you correctly, you should be able to remove it by holding down the command key while dragging it off.
