So Got the M2 mini for security camera work 24/7 but noticed that I was having to go get coffee when I processed raw images on PC, tried it on M2 and no waiting.

So I'm looking for a picture viewer, pc you double click a file and it opens up and you can look at all the picture in the folder with key commands.

So Sony Play memories Home is ok so I downloaded it and it wanted to install rosetta and I let it and it installed but I never did drag an icon to the applications folder and I don't know how to run it or it's not working.

Not sure which direction to go, any help appreciated, Thanks

In Finder you can select "View as Gallery" when examining a folder. You don't have to click on the file. Navigate with the arrow buttons.

That will work! Thanks

I think I have to enable extensions, tried with an installation and I couldn't do it, I've did it on an M1, kept restarting it until I got it but have to look at that again.

To enable extensions hold touch ID while powering up, the mini doesn't have touch ID.

So I would just keep trying to reboot it until I catch it?

Sorry, don't have a clue what you are saying. Application extensions, Safari extensions, ... ? What does TouchID have to do with booting? On the M2 a long hold on the power button is used to select options.

when you search for enable extensions mac mini, you get:

  1. Shut down your Mac device.
  2. Press and hold the Touch ID button for 5 seconds. ...
  3. Click Options then click Continue.
  4. Click on Utilities > Startup Security Utility.
  5. Click Startup Disk > Security Policy.
  6. Choose Reduced Security, check Allow user management of kernel extensions.
I don't have touch ID. If I hold the power button for 5, 7, 10 seconds, it just boots up, no options shown.

I've installed the NTFS reading software and Rosetta, they both said I need to reboot and enable extensions but been a few weeks and a few dozen restarts but haven't found it yet.

After powering off you have to hold the power button until the startup options appear. Then you can change the security settings to allow approved user software extensions.

If it doesn't work contact Apple Support.

Thanks, yea, all I get from my reading is hold touch ID for 5 seconds. Mac Mini - Hold for 26 seconds by my count.

Haven't enabled extensions yet though, I can get to options but then it says I need a keyboard, I have a BT keyboard, if I just boot the computer up keyboard connected, go to options and it stops at no keyboard connect your keyboard now.
So did that at least 10 times.

I did a chat with Apple support and after 45 minutes I think they understood the problem and was working on an answer but I had to leave, didn't have all day. That was before when I was just trying to get to the options page.

I tried plugging in a usb keyboard but that didn't get me past that screen.

God, why hast though forsaken me!!!!

No I believe there's a reason for everything and this is just another part of the process.

I'm still able to edit my raw files, lot quicker than my PC.
