pictures and tags don't update in shared folder

Hi all,
I have my iTunes folder shared to my wife's account on our iMac.

When I add new files to my iTunes folder, I click File, Add to Library. The new files are carried across with the correct artwork etc. to my wife's account.

Her access to the folder is Read Only as I didn't want the folder to become corrupted from multiple users.

Unfortunately if I subsequently change the artwork etc on my original files, it doesn't update on my wife's iTunes, even if I 'Add to Library' again.

Can anyone help please? I have tried all sorts of things and can't get the artwork to update.

managed to do it this way

but don't really want to have to reset the iTunes library and re-import each time to update pictures etc, so would be grateful of suggestions

Update

I tried removing the read only status of the folder and 'add to library' again but still no success

Please help someone!!
